Relics of Caormastus Story Line

In removing the parchment he found that it told of the great hardship and cold of that night. The prophet remained quite stoic, while his disciples held onto hope that the blizzard that kept them in the tunnel would relent soon. The parchment also told that the Caorumvis had with them several artefacts from the dawn of time, one of which was held within a gilt chest, its lock protected with holy powers

Weeks past and the finding of this holy site had energized the order’s paladins, but something continued to trouble the Grandmaster. Why had father Grimhurst, one of the Caorumvis, never spoken about this pilgrimage north, in all his teachings of the Light. The only thing that the Grandmaster could remember that had anything to do with the area north of Ironforge was father Grimhurst stern warning about the beast that lurks in the south east of the wetlands. On little more than that information the Grandmaster set out with ranks of Templares to find this beast and see if it held any secrets. Upon arriving in the Wetlands and venturing to find the beast that merited such a stern warning from the High Claesiarch the Templares confronted the powerful drake Axtroz. The battle was bloody and furious, but the Templares prevailed, slaying the beast. Spilling out over the battlefield, the contents of the drakes stomach revealed various objects, some hundreds of years old such as primitive armour and coins no longer in use. Standing out from the rest was a key with an ornate handle, decorated with a pentagonal pattern and symbols that were unknown to all who saw it that eve.

The pattern on the key was distinct, so much so that the Grandmaster remembered seeing it somewhere before. After careful thought and consideration it could be only one thing. It was the same as the siding of an old metal box he had seen during a crusade to cleanse the town of Hammerfall in Arathi. He had seen it in the room of the war chieftan there. To Hammerfall the Templares charged, cleansing the town of horde and recovering the box. After safely retreating from the now burning town the Templares gathered as the box was opened for all to see. Within the box a crystal orb sat, surrounded by black velvet. The Grandmaster carefull removed the orb and held it up for all to see.

By the light of the moon five symbols appeared on the ground beneath the order. Cheers of Caelestis Gloriam rang out from the gathered Templares. A relic that was touched by the prophet had been found. With the glow of torches and the light given off by the cheering Templares the symbols on the ground changed.

Over the coming months the orb was studied by the Grandmaster and other scholars to determine its meaning. So far the best theory is that by the Light in darkness five universal truths are revealed, those being the first five symbols shown in moonlight. In the Light of day the five symbols represent the five virtues that stand against the five truths.

The following year, under the leadership of then Grand Inquisitor Andaelas, the trail of the artifacts of Caormastus continued with the finding of two more great relics of the Order's History. A finger bone was found near the...
