Q:
What is the Grand Priory?
A: The Grand Priory is the highest council of the Celestial Crusade,
meaning the Caelestis Templares, Caelestis Inquisitores, and Caelestis Malleus.
It consists of three members; the Grandmaster, Lord Inquisitor, and
Lord Commander. When the council meets to pass judgment on important
issues, seats are reserved for the input from Immortals when their
wisdom and knowledge is required. The Priory is considered to be the
keepers of all the knowledge and secrets of the Order, the guardians
of the sacred texts and artifacts, and absolute rulers of the Order.
Each member is able to make final judgments on any and all matters
without input from others. Only members of the Priory may be called
upon to lead the order. When they are, they are given the additional title
of "Grand" to signify they are currently in charge. The permanent
leader is the Grandmaster, thus his basic title includes the word Grand.
If the Grandmaster is going to be away for a long period he will pass
leadership to one of the other Grand Priory members. In such
events, the Grandmaster names his High Deputy as
the Crusade's leader for the duration, giving him the title
of Grand Inquisitor, for example. The Grand Inquisitor would then name
the Lord Commander as his High Deputy and gave him the title of High
Deputy Lord Commander. Tradition dictates that the chain of command
is Grandmaster, Lord Inquisitor, Lord Commander, each naming the
next as their High Deputy. The Priory manages the officers,
the guild, and the lore of the guild both IC and OOCly. For
anything to be made official for any Caelestis chapter, a
Grand Priory member has to approve it. For example, for anything
to go on the website, a member of the Grand Priory has to approve it.
If there was going to be a major change to the guild, the Grand Priory
would make the final choice.
Members of the Priory are above question in all respects, IC or OOC.
Their word is the epitome of final. They cannot be challenged.
